I'm very proud to say I was again for the fourth time announced NEW ZEALAND PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR in Nelson by the NZ Institute of Professional Photography. I also won the highest scoring print in Open Portrait Category and won two categories. (Open Portrait & Expressive) This year I embraced the forward transitions of the photography medium as it travels with technology. In the newer expressive category which allows mixed media, I was able to experiment with image layering. From 18th century smoke and mirrors, physical layering via framing and the use of augmented reality over the top of my print, allowing it to appear to move. The hidden Easter egg within many of my images was the augmented reality. One example is below and I'll release them all gradually as many are yet to be judged elsewhere and I will be holding a gallery exhibition very shortly. I'd like to thank Nikon for sponsoring this years awards and also giving me the new Nikon z 7 ii camera along with a 24-70 lens. A huge thank you to my stylists again Abby Schofield Hair and Candice Dear Makeup Artist. Thank you to Inkjet Media-Breathing Color Fine Art Papers. who's paper I use religiously. You nail my vision every time and you're incredibly talented artists. Thank you to the NZIPP - the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography and all it's supportive members... especially to Tracey Scott and her Honours Board for holding this massive event and to Sarah McGregor behind the scenes. Lastly a shout out to all my fiends and family for your huge support and help behind the scenes.
