I had the pleasure of working with Spankie Jackzon, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under Season 2, on a personal branding photoshoot that truly captured Spankie’s personality—bold, vibrant, and full of humor. While the shoot took place outside of Hawkes Bay, the creative process, lighting techniques, and imagery reflect the playful and larger-than-life essence that Spankie embodies.

 

We set out to create striking images that would highlight each of the outfits Spankie wore during the show. Using portable studio lighting equipment, we were able to ensure that the unique textures, colors, and extravagant details of the clothing stood out. Each image was carefully composed to reflect the humor, wit, and confidence that are central to Spankie’s personal brand.

 

The shoot wasn’t just about showcasing the outfits; it was about capturing Spankie’s sense of fun and charisma. The result was a collection of powerful, yet lighthearted, images that truly represent the entertainer’s personality. Here’s what Spankie had to say about working together:
